July 15, 2010

Hey Mom,
I am doing super good. I have made alot of really great friends. It has been such a great experience, I have learned so much it's crazy. It has been good till the other day, I rolled my ankle the other night really bad in gyml Any how, I tore most of my ligaments in my ankle and the DR said that I have a spiral crack on the lower part of my shin, but i don't think he knows. He didn't xray it or anything. I will have physical therapy every day till I leave the MTC for about an hour a day. I ran in to Sister Walton, Elder Ty Peck from Aberdeen, and Aaron Waters. It was so great to run into someone that I actually know. I have not seen Issac yet, but I have been looking. Anyway, my P-Day is on Thursday until I leave the MTC and I think I leave the MTC on the 27th or the 28th. Maybe. I don't really know.....but thank you for everything. I love you all tons!

Letter #1 MTC

Dear Mom & Dad,                         July 9 2010
It is the second day and so far it has been really food. It blows my mind at how rushed this place is, and how much I have already learned. So far I have not been homesick at all. It has come as kinda a blessing to me. My campanion is pretty amazing. Elder White is from Salt Lake, he is 19 and already has his associate degree and almost his bacholor in pre-med. We Get along super well. I have never felt the spirit so strong in such a short time. This is truly the place that I want to be. I love you all and thank you for all the support that you have given me. It is an amazing fact to know that I have such a great family back home that prays for me with sincere hearts. I could not ask for a greater family. I love you all so much.
Love Elder Bair

The Stop and Drop

We arrived early in Provo, so we did a little shopping before going to the MTC. Everywhere we went, we saw families with young men in white shirts who looked very green faces, as if they would like to turn and run back home as fast as they can. I think in a way, it was good for Jared to see them because it helped him to see that these young men were just as scared as he was.

Jared, wearing his lucky green tie, is just moments away from entering the doors to the MTC. No longer do we go in and sit down and watch mormon ads which always make the Momma's cry. Now we pull in and see missionaries in white shirts lining the sidewalks. As you pull up, a missionary opens every door and assists the occupants out. They unload the luggage and give you a few seconds to say good bye and they are gone. Of course that doesn't stop the Momma from crying, we just don't have to cry as long.

Back to the begining-Mission Call

With such a temptation, certain percautions were neccessary. Josh seemed to thing that since Jared opened Josh's mission call, that Josh should be able to open Jared's mission call. The proposal was defeated.
Jared is called to the Indiana Indianapoli Mission. He will report to the MTC on July 7, 2010.

The Begining

This blog is to follow the mission of Elder Jared Steven Bair. It is my hope that his family and close friends will add to it from the letters that he sends home to us along with pictures. At the end of his mission we will print it off and have a nice journal for him to remember his mission by.
