August 30, 2010

Hey Mom,
My week went super fast. I went on two excanges with the Spanish Elders because one of them is the District Leader. I have been dying because of the food, but all is going well. We came in contact again with Amber the investagator that had a rude husband in church. She and her daughter have baptism dates and all is good again. Her husband is just bull-headed, so we teach her and her daughter when he is at work.

It was getting a bit cooler last week, but this week is has been super hot. It was 98 degrees yesterday with the humidity. It has been a physcial challange on our bodies. That is awesome that Dad won first place in the shotgun shooting. You will have to tell him that I must of taught him well. :) That is so awesome that Trevor and Miranda were able to go thru the temple! That is awesome, I wish that I was able to go the temple. We don't have one in our mission... so we can't go... it's kinda a bummer deal, but it happens.

We have a recent convert that is going thru the temple tommorrow morning; I wish that we were able to go with her! She is super sweet and super old, so she is in need of assistance. We try to stop by as often as we can to make sure that she is doing ok. But she is super excitied to be able to go to the temple. I am glad that all is going well. I love you all tons.

Hey Dad,
Everything is going well. I am always learning alot and am trying to be patient with people that are bull-headed. It is teaching me a good lesson.
This week we did alot of exchanges with the District Leaders, so I was in the spanish world for 3 days on exchanges. That is a riot. It is awesome, we went to a investigator's house, and they had a super sick infant. The Spanish Elder gave her a blessing in Spanish, and I know that the Lord gave me the gift of interpretation because I understood everything that he said in the blessing. It was so spiritual. We also came in contact with Amber again and she still wants to learn more; still wants to be baptized with her daughter Naomi. They are still on track for a September 30th baptism. I probably won't be in Fort Wayne when it happens though... transfers are on the 8th. So I might be here, I might not. If anyone has mail or anything, tell them to send it the the mission home for now... or at least until I can tell ya'll were I will be at. But that is cool that our windmills are going to be going up in the spring. I am excited that everything worked out so that could happen. All is well here. I love you tons.

August 24, 2010

Hi Mom,
Ii did get the package that you sent, so that is all good there, and it's ok if i don't get the gloves awfully soon. This week has been pretty hard. I have had home on my mind alot with Josh and Diana getting married. But that's just the start of it.
Saturday night we had a dinner at a member's house. All went good there and on the ride back to our apartment, he needed to stop at the Bishop's house. So, we did that and it ends up that we were asked to give talks Sunday on the Iron Rod and how we can apply it to missionary work. So we stayed up late and prepared talks. Sunday we gave our talks and all that went good. We had Amber and her family come to church. It was great to see that her husband came to church as he is super anti. After sacrament, he blew up on the church and all that stuff.... making a big deal of it. He treated his wife and kids like crap. I almost punched him in the face I was so upset. So now we are just sitting here praying that we will be able to keep meeting with her and her family. After that Church seemed to drag on forever.
After church we went and taught a gal, Alyssa, who we tracted into my first night. She is solid. She knows that she has done wrong and she is awesome. She doesn't want to be baptized yet, but she definitely is very interested in the Gospel. That made the day alot better.
Sorry about not writing yesterday; I failed to mention that we had a Zone Conference yesterday... so our P-Day was today. Anyways, Zone Conference was in Prue. It is about a hour and a half drive from Fort Wayne. It's funny because the road sign says, "Mexico to the left, Chili to the right, and Prue straight." I would of thought that I was is the Southern Hemisphere!
We had a General Authority talk to us yesterday; Elder Golden and his wife. They are awesome. They came out with some new teaching ways that have been added on the Preach my Gospel. It is more directed in following the Spirit and finding the needs of the people we are teaching. There is really no more teaching lessons... it's more along the lines of finding what they need and teaching them what they want to know.
Oh yeah, by the way we are in a car half time. We share a car with some other missionaries. And ya, I get to drive. And no, it's not because my expericane driving in a city. It is because my companion lost his driving privileges from a car wreck. I hate that driving is so intense.... these people are nuts! They are worse than Utah drivers. But anyways, that is beside the point.
My ankle is about the same... it is still super swollen and painful, but its ok.... it is not keeping the work from progressing. So not bad enough yet. I love you all and be sure to tell Josh and Diana congratulations!
Love you tons,
Elder Bair

Mother Dear,
I am doing great! It is awesome here; we had five investagators come to ALL of church yesterday! It was awesome. We also committed another young lady to baptism on the 30 of September... which is awesome too because she has six kids and only one is under the age of 8, so all is good there. By the end of the transfer, our numbers are going to be sweet. I talked to the Zone Leaders yesterday and he said that my companion and I have the best and the highest numbers so far this transfer. That made my day... it is super awesome. Right now, so far, we have three baptism dates for the end of the month. I am super excited.
The other day we were tracting kinda by an auditorium and we ran in to an old guy. The Red Green show guy!!!! He was doing a show here in Fort Wayne, so we planted the seed. We gave him a Book of Mormon card and the phone number to Salt Lake, where they will give the Canada missionaries his address. It is awesome.
It was super cool, we tracted on Taber street! Also people here are just not the same on Taber as they are there. I would much rather talk to the Taber people there; they're much nicer. I also got mail from your young women in the ward. I AM SURE THAT YOU HAD YOUR HAND IN THAT WORK!!!! Anyways, I don't have their address to write them back so if you could send me them that would be great. It is Doug's daughter and that Redford girl... I can't remember their names....my bad. All is going well, it is still kicking my trash in the humidity department. it is a not cool. But I am doing well and I am loving the work. I love you all tons!
