Hi Mom,
Ii did get the package that you sent, so that is all good there, and it's ok if i don't get the gloves awfully soon. This week has been pretty hard. I have had home on my mind alot with Josh and Diana getting married. But that's just the start of it.
Saturday night we had a dinner at a member's house. All went good there and on the ride back to our apartment, he needed to stop at the Bishop's house. So, we did that and it ends up that we were asked to give talks Sunday on the Iron Rod and how we can apply it to missionary work. So we stayed up late and prepared talks. Sunday we gave our talks and all that went good. We had Amber and her family come to church. It was great to see that her husband came to church as he is super anti. After sacrament, he blew up on the church and all that stuff.... making a big deal of it. He treated his wife and kids like crap. I almost punched him in the face I was so upset. So now we are just sitting here praying that we will be able to keep meeting with her and her family. After that Church seemed to drag on forever.
After church we went and taught a gal, Alyssa, who we tracted into my first night. She is solid. She knows that she has done wrong and she is awesome. She doesn't want to be baptized yet, but she definitely is very interested in the Gospel. That made the day alot better.
Sorry about not writing yesterday; I failed to mention that we had a Zone Conference yesterday... so our P-Day was today. Anyways, Zone Conference was in Prue. It is about a hour and a half drive from Fort Wayne. It's funny because the road sign says, "Mexico to the left, Chili to the right, and Prue straight." I would of thought that I was is the Southern Hemisphere!
We had a General Authority talk to us yesterday; Elder Golden and his wife. They are awesome. They came out with some new teaching ways that have been added on the Preach my Gospel. It is more directed in following the Spirit and finding the needs of the people we are teaching. There is really no more teaching lessons... it's more along the lines of finding what they need and teaching them what they want to know.
Oh yeah, by the way we are in a car half time. We share a car with some other missionaries. And ya, I get to drive. And no, it's not because my expericane driving in a city. It is because my companion lost his driving privileges from a car wreck. I hate that driving is so intense.... these people are nuts! They are worse than Utah drivers. But anyways, that is beside the point.
My ankle is about the same... it is still super swollen and painful, but its ok.... it is not keeping the work from progressing. So not bad enough yet. I love you all and be sure to tell Josh and Diana congratulations!
Love you tons,
Elder Bair
